When the worms eat and process the organic compost we feed them, they create “worm poop” also known as worm castings or vermicompost. It takes about 90 days for the worms to complete this process. Once it’s time to harvest the worm castings, we remove the worms from the worm beds and harvest the vermicompost by taking it out of the boxes and spreading it out to reduce the moisture content. Once we have acquired the desire humidity, we sift the worm castings. We only bag the worm castings once an order is placed in order to guarantee the most fresh product.
Worm castings—or vermicompost—provide essential nutrients to the soil while enhancing water retention. They also protect plants from diseases and pests while increasing yields and promoting effective pollination by bees.
Apply 1 part worm castings into 4 parts soil when making a potting mixture for your plants.
